
About Dr. Carolin Sonne
Dr. Carolin Sonne is an internationally trained cardiologist with extensive experience in clinical and interventional cardiology, echocardiography, heart failure, valvular and coronary artery disease.
After studying medicine at Ludwig Maximilians University Munich, she trained and worked at renowned university hospitals in Chicago and Munich, including the University of Chicago Medical Center and the German Heart Center Munich of the Technical University of Munich.
She is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology, holds the German Society of Cardiology certification in Interventional Cardiology, and completed her Habilitation as Privatdozentin in Internal Medicine. During her university career, she served as Director of the Echocardiography Laboratory and Heart Failure Clinic and as senior attending physician in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, gaining broad expertise in modern diagnostic and interventional cardiology.
Alongside her clinical work, Dr. Sonne is actively involved in research, medical teaching, international congresses, and scientific publications.
Since 2016, she has run her own cardiology practice in Athens, while continuing her interventional cardiology work at leading hospitals in Athens and Munich. She welcomes patients in German, Greek, English, and also speaks French and Italian at an intermediate level.
